The fact is that there is almost always a mutually satisfactory compromise. However, both partners have minimum requirements that must be met. There are also areas where you can be flexible and make concessions. Of course, none of this is known to the other side, resulting in a complex structure of unknowns.
Resolving this and finding compromises is resource-intensive on one hand, and on the other hand you are very likely to be unsure whether you have really achieved the best possible result. In addition, a lot of partnership trust may be lost.
